Pia Wurtzbach has finally been able to answer a K-pop idol’s invitation to watch Super Junior’s show three years after he invited her.
But first, some background on Wurtzbach’s fangirl days: Miss Universe 2015 had — or perhaps has — a major crush on Super Junior’s Siwon, at least according to tweets from 2009 where she described him as “super hot” and fantasized him as her husband.
She can’t be blamed, given Siwon’s hunky good looks and talent.
After her Miss Universe win in 2015, the K-pop star congratulated Wurtzbach through an Instagram comment and invited her to the next Super Show.
Last Saturday, June 30, the meeting which has been years in the making was finally fulfilled. Based on their photo-op, both were thrilled to meet one another.
“Finally! A true fan girl moment for me!” Wurtzbach gushed.
During the show, Siwon acknowledged the beauty queen’s presence. “Pia’s here!” he announced to cheers from ELFs — Super Junior’s fandom name — at the Mall of Asia Arena.
His attention to Wurtzbach didn’t end there: he asked fans to hand a bottle of water to Wurtzbach, as seen in a video of K-pop fan Elle Rivera.
In a video taken by another concert-goer Adrian Gret , Wurtzbach is seen shrieking in joy.
After the initial shock, she hands the bottle to someone else because the brand is not the one she endorses — proving she’s a role model even on the matter of fangirling.
Becoming Mrs. Siwon Choi may no longer be on her bucket list — Wurtzbach is spoken for by her dashing boyfriend Marlon Stockinger — but it goes without saying that she’s done justice to her fangirl heart from nearly a decade ago. JB
