K-pop star Kriesha Chu signs contract with ABS-CBN’s Adober Studios
After making waves in South Korea, Filipino K-pop idol Kriesha Chu is gearing up to expand her local fan base by showcasing more of her adventures and her talent in her own YouTube channel.
Chu has signed up with Star Music and Adober Studios, a local YouTube multi-channel network that manages 900 channels and averages one billion views a month.
“I’m very excited about this contract and also my future activities here in the Philippines… Looking forward to doing more Filipino covers and Filipino songs,” she said during her contract signing on Thursday.
As part of Adobers, Kriesha will be collaborating with YouTubers “Dance Kids” champion, former “Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids” performer AC Bonifacio, and other content creators, including Rappll, Jonald Helito, and Maimai Lampos.
The 19-year-old K-pop star was first introduced in Korea when she joined the last season of reality TV competition “K-pop Star” on Korean television channel SBS. She then quickly gained following among Korean and Filipino audiences. She finished as a runner-up and eventually became part of the group KWINs.

“Sandara Park is actually one of my biggest idols and inspirations. She shows a part of Korea and the Philippines at the same time, but I don’t think I would be the next Sandara Park but I will try to make Koreans and Filipinos proud,” she said.
Acting isn’t one of her priorities now but given the chance in the future, she said she would gladly look into it. She also revealed that her favorite local stars are Kapamilya love team Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo.
Contrary to public perception, Chu is a Filipina. Both her parents are from Cebu and are Filipinos, with just a tinge of Chinese ancestry. /ee
