Appel made the revelation as he was asked about Brian’s “brief” passing back in 2013, which saddened fans of the show. The episode, titled “Life of Brian”, showed the dog being struck by a car and dying. He was later revived two episodes later, when Stewie went back in time to save him.

“Yes, and at the time, I remember that someone wrote a column in a big newspaper about how the ‘Family Guy’ writers realized that it was a huge mistake from fan reaction, and two weeks later, they brought him back in an episode,” Appel was quoted in the interview. “So, luckily, fans missed him because we knew he was coming back.”

He revealed that Brian’s wedding will be shown in two parts. “So that’s something — instead of killing off a character, we’re bringing on a character, and we’ll see what happens with that,” the showrunner said.
