When it comes to her children, Queen of All Media Kris Aquino may just be the fiercest mother hen. Like any mom, a sudden change in her child’s health or behavior is enough to send her “maternal fears” into overdrive, sometimes even to the point of understandable exaggeration. But it seems there is no such thing as exaggeration in a mother’s dictionary — every little thing counts when it concerns the well-being of her child.
Aquino last Friday, June 22, took to her Instagram to share to her followers her worries for eldest son, Josh. This was after she discovered on Friday, 4 a.m., bloody baby wipes in the trash.
“I have barely slept because I’ve been extremely worried about kuya Josh’s gastro intestinal issues,” wrote Aquino. “I believe my fear is justifiable because both my Lola Ma & my Mom didn’t survive colon cancer.”
Aquino added that she has called for Dr. Aye Nuguid to check on son Josh that Friday night. She extended her gratitude to the good doctor, saying he has helped in reassuring her despite her bouts of worry.
“Thank you Dr. @ayenuguid for the Friday night housecall [and] reassuring this beyond nervous Mom by explaining all the tests kuya will go through in the next few weeks,” Aquino said.
Some people, however, do not seem to understand Aquino’s fears as a mother, as one netizen, a certain Susan (@thisissusaninms) commented on her post and told her to “stop” with her “BS.”
“I don’t understand you sometimes!!! Stop! Just be a mother to your kids without all these bs of explanations you do!!” the netizen wrote. “Damn you [sic] really embarrassing your kids later on in life!!”
The comment obviously did not sit well with Aquino as she fired back at the netizen.
“WTF is your problem? Colon cancer isn’t embarrassing, either is bleeding ulcers. Papatol ako (I will answer back at you) because I have the platform to let people know that EARLY DETECTION is freaking important. You are the embarrassment because you have zero compassion.”
Aquino further told the netizen not to “lecture” her about motherhood as she “had the best possible role model.”
“And her primary cancer was colon cancer,” said Aquino, referring to her mother, the late former President Cory Aquino. “I have a colonoscopy every [three] years. I don’t know you [and] you personally don’t know me BUT if our paths ever cross- fair warning, you crossed a line [with] me today [and] I am certainly going to stand my ground.”
In Kris Aquino fashion, she ended her reply with a menacing, “TRY ME.” JB
