It’s only natural for a mother to be protective towards her defenseless and innocent child. Such was the case recently for television host and socialite Regina Patricia Jose “China” Cojuangco, daughter of Jose “Peping” Cojuangco Jr. and Margarita “Tingting” delos Reyes Cojuangco, when she was alarmed over a private message sent to her by a netizen on her Instagram account.

Cojuangco, who saved screenshots of the exchange, took to her Instagram page two days ago, June 16, to air out her grievances. Cojuangco, seemingly disappointed, addressed Instagram in her letter after her attempts to report the malicious netizen’s account failed.

In Cojuangco’s screenshots, a netizen under the name Angelie Arbuis (@angeliarbuis) messaged her about Cojuangco’s recent Instagram Story of her 4-year-old daughter Lucia.  She is her daughter with husband chef Gino Gonzalez.

“Cute sarap isilid sa sako tapos tapon ilog makaganti naman sa cojuanco (sic),” wrote the netizen. “Just kidding love you I love your baby so adorable.”

(Cute, it would be nice to put her in a sack, then throw her in the river, as revenge to the Cojuangcos.)

In another message, the netizen wrote, “I love your dad because he is my favourite cojuanco (sic).”

Cojuangco, who didn’t seem to find the message funny at all, replied to the netizen, saying, “Sorry ha, pero offensive yung message mo kahit sinubukan mong bawiin. Kung gusto mong makaganti sa COJUANGCO – huwag mong idamay anak ko.”

(Sorry but your message is offensive, even if you tried to take it back. If you want vengeance on the Cojuangcos, don’t drag my daughter into it.)

The netizen has since blocked Cojuangco after her reply, thus making Cojuangco unable to report the netizen’s account. She shared that her friends and followers have been “furious” about the situation, and have tried to report the netizen’s account too — but to no avail.

“Dear Instagram, I would normally set aside comments that are abusive or insulting toward me,” wrote Cojuangco. “But when I posted an IG story of my daughter @iamluciacg — which I have saved incase you would want to review it — a private message was sent to me…”

“Many of my friends and followers have been furious sending me PM’s of their concerns and have tried to report this account but to no avail, have been rejected…” added Cojuangco.

She added that if Instagram doesn’t consider the netizen’s action as falling under abusive content, she would personally take it as a threat, even to the extent of kidnapping

“If in your case, you do not see such [as] abusive content — as I can translate to english: CUTE I WOULD LOVE TO PUT HER IN A SACK AND THROW HER IN THE RIVER… pertaining to my 4 year old daughter — I would personally take this as a threat, cyber bullying even to the extent of kidnapping,” she stressed.

Cojuangco also vowed that she would “take action” to protect her innocent daughter: “I do not wish for anyone saying that I am over reacting — but if this involves my innocent daughter — then I will take action. Praying and hoping that you would too.” JB
