Losing a child is perhaps one of the most painful things a mother could ever go through, and Saab Magalona knows this pain all too well as she lost in childbirth one of her twins, named baby Luna, back in February.

Magalona, who is married to local band “Cheats” guitarist Jim Bacarro, shared then in a wistful, bittersweet blog post that she was heartbroken, yet hopeful over the loss of Luna. Luna is survived by her twin brother, Pancho.

It seems lately though that Magalona is feeling reminiscent, as she took to her Instagram two days ago, June 12, to share a throwback photo of her when she was still pregnant with her twins.

In the picture, Magalona can be seen pulling her black shirt up to reveal her baby bump and facing a mirror to take the snap. “My body was once home to three heartbeats,” wrote Magalona. “I’ve been allowing myself to grieve Luna’s passing and to enjoy all my moments with Pancho.”

“It’s been such a rollercoaster to say the least, but I am getting better,” she shared.

Magalona did not hesitate in offering advice to those who may also be going through difficult times, choosing a lesson about sadness that she learned through her morning meditations to share with her followers.

“‘If there’s sadness, let there be sadness. It’s when we make the sadness wrong — telling ourselves we shouldn’t be experiencing it — that our emotions intensify.”

Magalona further wrote that sadness would come and go if people stopped resisting it without a tinge of judgment. “Why shouldn’t we be sad? Sometimes sadness happens. Allow things to be as they are in each moment,'” wrote Magalona, offering a virtual hug to whoever may be in need.

“Here, have a hug.”

And it seems Pancho, just like his mom, is more than willing to give hugs, too.
