WATCH: Robin Padilla’s daughter Maria Isabella studies ‘Noli Me Tangere’, national heroes

Robin Padilla and Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla are making sure their one-year-old daughter, Maria Isabella, learns about Philippine history.

In an Instagram video uploaded by Robin today, June 10, Mariel is seen teaching the Filipino alphabet, Philippine national heroes and “Noli Me Tangere” to Maria Isabella — who appears to be more excited to dive into her banana chips. Then again, Mariel said at the start of the video that it’s “snack time” already.

Robin captioned the video with a quote from Maria Montessori’s famous book “The Absorbent Mind” — “…if we compare our ability as adults to that of the child, it would require us sixty years of hard work to achieve what a child has achieved in these first three years.”

Netizens reacted positively to the video — after all, it is not everyday that children of celebrities are seen by their fans being taught Filipino subjects. One Instagram user, @jacklovefalcis, applauded the fact that the couple is already teaching the toddler about Philippine heroes.

Another fan, @wendymlumantas, lauded the action star for teaching his daughter the Filipino alphabet first before the English alphabet, citing such preference for learning English over Filipino as the reason why a lot of students struggle with their Filipino subjects in school.

If her parents continue with this good start, Maria Isabella might actually find her Filipino and Philippine history subjects easy to deal with in the future. JB
