Maine Mendoza and Nadine Lustre have already achieved feats in their respective careers by now. But who would have thought that they were once hopefuls wanting to be part of “Pinoy Big Brother”?
This was what the reality TV show’s director Lauren Dyogi revealed in his first vlog posted on his Youtube channel on Wednesday, June 6.
The video showed a 14-year-old Lustre who auditioned in 2010 for “Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition”, but did not make the cut. Ironically, the show’s winner at the time would eventually be her love team partner today — James Reid.
Meanwhile, the Dubsmash Queen and “Eat Bulaga” mainstay tried to join for “Pinoy Big Brother: 737” which aired in 2015. That season produced winners Jimboy Martin and Miho Nishida.
“That’s a bad call on my part,” Dyogi expressed about their auditions. “Then again, ganun talaga. Ganun lang naman ‘yan. Siguro hindi ako ang kanilang kapalaran.” (Then again, that’s the way it is. That’s just the way it is. Maybe I’m not the answer to their fate.)
Despite his supposed mistake, Dyogi was still able to help stars such as Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, Maymay Entrata, Joshua Garcia, among others on their rise to fame.
But as he is famous for directing “Pinoy Big Brother”, could Dyogi also be the voice behind the mysterious “Kuya”? He slightly shrugged his shoulders and made a face.
Dyogi is also known for directing movies under Star Cinema. His filmography includes “Now That I Have You” starring John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo and “All My Life” featuring Aga Muhlach and Kristine Hermosa. He is currently ABS-CBN’s Head of TV Entertainment. JB
