Although Sunshine Cruz has known show biz since she was a teen, there was a time when she shunned the spotlight for 13 years.

After marrying Cesar Montano in 2000, she was willing to give up her career to become a housewife and full-time mom. Her last regular appearance on TV would be in 2004 for the fantasy series “Marina.”

In 2013, she separated from Montano after discovering that he had an alleged affair.

Since then, she raised their three children on her own and came back kicking into television with ABS-CBN’s “Dugong Buhay.” Her comeback was also marked with magazine covers, such as one she shared of a parenting magazine.

Back in 2013, Cruz also drew reactions when she posed for a men’s magazine; she explained then that she wanted to inspire mothers to stay sexy.

“I’ve done 6 seryes (series) with [ABS-CBN] (“Dugong Buhay,” “Galema Anak Ni Zuma,” “Oh my G!,” “Pure Love,” “Dolce Amore,” “Wildflower”),” she recalled, adding that she is working with GMA after moving to the network on the series “Kapag Nahati ang Puso” (previously known as “Karibal Ko ang Aking Ina”).

“Been blessed with loving, beautiful, TALL and smart children and of course, wonderful opportunities since then,” she gushed.

Cruz has also finished a college degree in psychology at 39 and has been in a nearly two-year relationship with Macky Mathay, all while keeping her physique fit at 40 years old.  /ra
