It seems that no matter what Jessy Mendiola does to better herself, bashers will always have something to say. Despite being hailed as FHM Philippines’ No. 1 Sexiest Woman in 2016, bashers persist on body-shaming the actress for her curvy and voluptuous physique.
In the past, Mendiola spoke up about her depression, turning down roles due to being shamed for her body even after she won the sexiest title. Nowadays, a quick glance at Mendiola’s Instagram shows that the actress has been busying herself with her workouts, and she has been sharing her weight loss journey to her fans.
Last night, Mendiola took to her Instagram Stories to share a picture of her inside a dressing room. Mendiola was wearing a black sweater and a pair of her favorite jeans. The jeans, which used to fit Mendiola’s hips, are now visibly too big on her. It’s apparent that Mendiola has lost weight and gained muscle, thanks to her tailored workout program.
“My favorite pair of high-waisted jeans aren’t so high-waisted anymore,” wrote Mendiola, contemplating whether she should buy new clothes. “Kuripot kasi talaga ako guys, pero siguro sign na to para bumili na ng mga bagong damit? Tingin niyo? #hirapbes.”

Two days ago, May 28, Mendiola took to her Instagram to share a picture of her trim figure. It’s evident the actress has been working hard on her core exercises, as she showed off her tiny waist. Although she earned praises from fans, who complimented her for her hard work, there were still the occasional bashers who accused her of distorting the picture.
Mendiola, however, remained positive and encouraged other netizens, sharing that she herself worked hard for a year to attain her figure. As with all good things, even a healthier and fitter body also takes time, but it seems some new clothes wouldn’t hurt, too. /ra
