Pambansang Bae Alden Richard’s “Alaala: A Martial Law Special” wins the Gold Camera in the Docudrama category at the 50th US International Film & Video Festival.
The special made waves when it was aired last September 2017 in GMA network. It starred Alden Richards, Rocco Nacino and Bianca Umali, among others.
The special revolved around the story of Bonifacio Ilagan or simply Boni, an activist, detainee, a real-life martial law survivor.
Boni’s capture and torture, much like that of other martial law detainees, was highlighted in the story. Also, the plight of Lina, Boni’s sister played by Bianca Umali, was among the hundreds of missing persons who were never found again.
Meanwhile, Richards continues to be among the hosts of long-running daily noontime show “Eat Bulaga.”
