Power couple Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia are thankful to be recognized by the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS).
Barretto shared a photo of her and Garcia posing with their plaques of recognition on Instagram yesterday. The two were nominated for their roles in the Antoinette Jadaone film “Love You to the Stars and Back.”
“Excuse our faces!!”Barretto said about their photo. Still, the actress could not contain her excitement, and she expressed her gratitude for the nomination. She said: “We’re just really happy to have received our plaques for being nominated as FAMAS Best Actress & Best Actor!!”
“Win or lose, it is an HONOR to have been nominated along side amazing actresses!!!” Barretto added. She will be going against Maja Salvador, Gloria Diaz and Agot Isidro, among others, for FAMAS Best Actress.
The FAMAS Awards has been known to recognize talented actors since 1952. This year, winners will be chosen by an independent jury composed of movie practitioners, academics and critics headed by screenwriter Ricky Lee.
The awards night, called “Gabi Ng Parangal,” will take place on June 10 at The Theatre at Solaire in Parañaque City. /ra
