Janella Salvador gets 100% support from mom Jenine Desiderio for ‘So Connected’
Things haven’t always been smooth when it comes to Janella Salvador and mom Jenine Desiderio, with some of their previous misunderstandings having been exposed in social media. But even the usual tampuhan is set aside when it comes to the things that really matter.
Desiderio took to her Instagram page yesterday, May 22, to support her daughter’s latest film “So Connected”, directed by Jason Paul Laxamana.
The film has Salvador starring along Jameson Blake, and not her boyfriend Elmo Magalona. It is a story about the characters of Karter (Blake) and Trisha (Salvador) who got connected when Karter’s stolen phone gets sold to Trisha. The film explores the power of social media, as well as its pitfalls when used carelessly.
“’So Connected’ now showing starring my daughter Janella Salvador and Jameson Blake,” wrote Desiderio. “Friends, kindly watch & show your support! Thank you!”
Salvador’s ever-supportive love team partner and rumored boyfriend Elmo Magalona, meanwhile, expressed how proud he was of Salvador, especially as the film held its star-studded premier night yesterday, May 22.

Salvador, meanwhile, has been gushing over the good reviews about “So Connected”. Today, May 23, she took to Twitter to share with her followers how she really feels about her craft.
“The good reviews for So Connected are making me so kilig,” she wrote. “I started this project unsure about how it will turn out with only love for my craft in my heart… and hope that our viewers will appreciate filipino movies more for content and talent.”
Salvador also had praises for Laxamana and expressed her pride for the project: “I can truly say that no matter how big or small the box office numbers are going to turn out, i’ll be proud of this film. Direk @jplaxamana, you are truly amazing – one of the best directors i’ve ever worked with. “
And in light of her film going up against superhero blockbusters this week, Salvador appealed, “Despite foreign competition, we hope you support local today.” JB
