“Hi everyone, I’m A-okay, I’m here in the hospital pa rin, I’m recuperating, I did have a major bypass, but I’m getting better, day by day and one of these days babalik din ako sa “ASAP”, babalik din ako sa “Your Face Sounds Familiar” and “Tawag ng Tanghalan,” he said.
“Paminsan-minsan siguro mag-a-absent pa rin ako, just to make sure that I’m in good shape. But the doctors are all satisfied with how it all turned out,” he added.
Despite a major surgery, he again assured that his heart is actually in excellent condition. He however added that one artery, if not treated soon, will cause further problem.

The entire showbiz scene was in shock when news of Valenciano’s surgery came out. For almost 40 years now, the total performer has been living with Type 1 Diabetes, or insulin-dependent diabetes which means the pancreas produces little or no insulin.
Despite having diabetes, Valenciano always delivers electrifying performances each time. It is through an open letter published by the singer’s publicist Chuck Gomez that the singer informed the public that he would be undergoing surgery to treat his heart problem.
In his letter, Valenciano said his uneasy feeling started when he felt chest pain after his 35th anniversary concert dance performance with his son Gabriel.
After a series of tests he was immediately ordered to undergo surgery. /muf
