Recent credits for Spanish actress Penelope Cruz include “Murder on the Orient Express”, “Escobar” and “American Crime Story” while French star Marion Cotillard has “Allied” and “Macbeth” among recent international projects.
China’s Fan Bingbing is another “X-Men” alumnus, having taken part in “X-Men: Days of Future Past”, Kenyan-Mexican Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o is involved in the “Star Wars” and “Avengers” franchises.
“355” is being produced through Chastain’s Freckle Films company, with the director’s Kinberg Genre company also involved.
“It’s something I’ve never seen, and it’s something that I believe will be not only incredibly entertaining for today’s global audience, but also something inspiring for an increasingly divided world,” said Kinberg of the film and its casting.
The project is being pitched to prospective distributors at the Cannes Film Festival which runs May 8 to 19 in southeast France. JB
