For the Queen of All Media Kris Aquino, there is no such thing as big or small roles in movies.
After snagging a role in the upcoming movie adaptation of the Kevin Kwan best-selling novel “Crazy Rich Asians,” the media personality defended herself after she was asked by a netizen about her non-appearance in the trailer.
Giving her followers a tease, she posted this video on Instagram yesterday of the complete cast for the movie. It can be seen that her photo is included in the roster, but she did not disclose her role as she had blocked the text below it with a heart sticker.
While others showed excitement for Aquino, one netizen named @jczenemji16 wondered why she was not featured in the trailer. He then posed this question: “Extra ka lang ba dun? I thought you’re one of the main characters :)”
But still beaming with pride about her upcoming cameo, she said: “@jczenemji16 as recently as Friday I said i’m there for 5 minutes BUT i do portray a [crown emoji]…”
She also raised the fact that she was part of Warner Bros. history because it was the “1st non period, all Asian, big Hollywood multi million $ production.” Aquino also included the hashtag “proudtorepresentphilippines.”
“Crazy Rich Asians” tells the story of Rachel meeting a handsome bachelor named Nick. To her surprise, she finds out that his family is extremely wealthy. With her being thrust into the spotlight, she must now deal with socialites and Nick’s disapproving mother.
As the movie rolls into theaters on Aug. 17, what do you think is Aquino’s role in it? /ra
