‘Sin Island’ uncut version bares ‘steamier,’ ‘bolder’ ‘gory’ scenes
The most sinful movie of the year sure still has something steamier to offer.
If moviegoers last Valentine season were already blown away with the stirring scenes of “Sin Island,” the uncut version will doubly take those imaginative minds to the brim of unbounded limits.
This was assured by cast members Coleen Garcia and Nathalie Hart as well as film director Gino M. Santos during the launch of the director’s cut of “Sin Island” on Sky PPV (pay-per-view) and TFC PPV on Friday.
Since the platform no longer involves screening from film regulation authorities, the movie is now free to showcase the entire content, including and most especially, the “gory” and “violent” must-not-miss scenes.
“‘Yung mga scenes kasi na ‘yun we had to cut kasi baka mabigyan kami ng R-18. The love scenes are extended in the director’s cut and also may mga gory scenes that were taken out of the theatrical release for the rating. ‘Pag napanood ng audience natin ‘yung director’s cut magugulat sila how far it could go,” Santos said.

“Siguro I guess we’re trying to liberate the viewers as well, kasi syempre there are a lot of TFC subscribers na napaka conservative pa rin ng mentality nila kasi the only Filipino movies that they see is ganun lang. Sana they can actually see na kaya din natin tumapat o lumevel sa ibang pelikula like Hollywood style or other countries as well and we’re evolving”, said Hart.
“That’s why I really pushed for the director’s cut kasi ayoko i-censor o i-limit lang natin ‘yung imagination natin or ‘yung film based on ratings so at least this one, they can see how I want the film to look like to violence nan’dun, ‘yung sexiness the edginess,” said Santos.
The uncut film is available for Sky and TFC subscribers for only P99. /jpv
