Family and friends of Franco Hernandez paid tribute to the performer on his 27th birthday. Among those who commemorated was Hernandez’s girlfriend of almost a year, Janica Nam Floresca.
Hernandez was a member of all-male group Hashtags. He tragically passed away last November 2017 in a drowning accident. He was then vacationing in Davao Occidental with his girlfriend and friends.
Floresca, who has been regularly posting about her memories of him on social media, visited his resting place in Quezon City along with Hernandez’ loved ones. His memorial site was lovingly decorated with portraits, dozens of flowers and 27 candles that formed a heart.
As the posted photos suggest, it seems that a memorial service was held, after which bright pink balloons with notes were released into the sky.
Floresca, a model, wrote a touching tribute to the Hashtags performer and continued to remember him fondly.
“We shared a life as happy as it could be. I’m missing the things we’ve done together,” she said.
“The love you have showed me was enough to last for the rest of my life,” Floresca added. “And whenever I want to see you, I just close my eyes and there you are with your arms widely open ready to hold me.”
“You are missed here by so many. Until we meet again my love, and prepare yourself for that day because I plan to come running as fast as I can, keep smiling keep laughing and we will keep living at the best we can,” she concluded.
She also posted a video from his last birthday where he is surrounded by gold balloons that spell “Happy B-Day,” large red heart balloons and a cake.
In the video, he opens a gift from her — a pair of Adidas Ultraboosts — and is moved to tears at the surprise, even signaling her to stop recording.
She also stated that they would have been together as a couple for 15 months. JB
