The pain of losing someone is just the same as never having the chance to actually be with someone you love at all. Just as break-ups with romantic partners hurt, so does breaking up with a best friend.

So to all those who are tied in the game of intertwined friendship and love, comedian/singer Kakai Bautista just has the proven tips on how to get over being friendzoned.

Her failed attempts at love in the past has already qualified her to be a guru giving pieces of advice to problematic individuals. These are all showcased on her online webisodes titled “The Friendzone” on YouTube.

And so she said that the first rule in dealing with such is “pag na friendzone ka, i-friendzone mo din. Kalimutan mo pansamantala,” she said at her recent guesting on Inquirer ShowbizLive on Wedneday.

She then stood ground not only for herself but also for everyone in the same situation who helplessly “assumed” in love. Furthermore, she defended that assuming is a natural course which everyone is guilty of every day.

Every day nag-a-assume tayo. ‘Sana hindi traffic, ay hindi traffic noh? Traffic kaya?’ So don’t pinpoint on me na ‘wag mag-assume. Lahat tayo nag-aassume every day lalo na sa love.”

Elaborating on her earlier tip, she said if someone gets friendzoned, she suggests to gather up strength and slap back that someone with the same affection he/she is given, or the lack of it.

It’s mind over matter.”

She also believes that losing a best friend is way more painful than losing a boyfriend, especially if he was lost by trying to win him over.

Mahirap ‘yun tahiin ulit at mahirap punasan ‘yung lamat nun.”

Throughout her ordeal, she had no qualms about admitting that she was, at one point, friendzoned by her best friend-turned-bitter friend-turned-good friend again Ahron Villena.

Besides his crushing words, she also had to defeat online bashing. Now, she’s past the phase of moving on and is happy and at peace with herself. She also said she’s ready to live her life without a partner should she be destined to grow old alone.
