It seems that top-billed director Cathy Garcia-Molina noticed late that in social media, everybody is watching your every move.

Garcia-Molina got real on her thoughts on James Reid and Nadine Lustre. This happened after one curious netizen urged the director to make a flick starring the two before she retires.

In a now deleted tweet, a die-hard JaDine fan, @Pumpkin021116, said, “Sana po sa huling movie mo, sana Jadine ang kunin nyo, magaling po @ napakaprofessional. Natapos mo ang KN, LQ, sana JD n nman (I hope in your last movie, you get Jadine. They’re good and very professional. You’ve done KN, LQ, I hope you do JD this time).”

The director replied, “Iha talaga ba? Iba kasi [a]ng naririnig ko galing mismo k Direk V [Dan Villegas] at Direk Tonet [Antoinette Jadaone]. Sorry (Iha, are you sure? What I hear from Direk V and Direk Tonet is different. Sorry).”

Upon posting, this fumed other fans of the love team, making the director explain and defend herself. @Pumpkin021116 asked Garcia-Molina about what she heard from the two directors. “Mas maganda po yung makatrabaho mismo kesa maniwala sa sabi2x lang (It’s better to work with them instead of believing from hearsay).”

Garcia-Molina first agreed with the netizen’s point on believing on hearsay, but later on proved herself by raising she is friends with both Villegas and Jadaone. She added she previously worked with Reid on the Precious Heart Romance Presents series “Pintada.”

But wanting to communicate further, she suggested to the netizen to settle things privately “para di nakabroadcast sa lahat (so it would not be broadcast).” She even complimented her by saying, “You seem like a nice person, and you have my respect. I would like to talk to you and be honest with you.”

Not backing down, @Pumpkin0211016 once again raised a question: “[K]ung totoo nga yang tsismis bakit kinuha parin ni direk tonet ang JD from OTWOL [“On the Wings of Love”] to TIMY [“‘Til I Met You”] to NNLY [“Never Not Love You”]? So anong ibig sabihin ng narinig mo (If the gossip is true, why did Direk Tonet still get JD from OTWOL to TIMY to NNLY? So what does your hearsay mean)?”

Not wanting to add fuel to the fire, Garcia-Molina retreated and refused to say further. Garcia-Molina said it was up to Villegas and Jadaone to speak up on the issue.

She then apologized if she had offended the netizen. She added, “I just felt you were sincere and honest with your question that it deserved an honest answer from me too.” @Pumpking020116 also said sorry to her, saying she did not expect her reply.

Things did not end there. Another netizen,@AnneTok3, lambasted the director for meddling and said that it was right for her to retire. But Garcia-Molina rebutted, “I did not mention anything” and said sorry, but still asserted, “Wala namang mali sa sinabi ko (There’s nothing wrong with what I said). It was an honest question and an honest reply.”

@anongpakimo2806 mocked Garcia-Molina for asking privacy at a time when the tweet was already garnering attention. The director replied: “Sorry sorry. Late ko talaga na realize nung May ibang nag react na.  Sorry talaga (Sorry sorry. I really realized it late when someone reacted. I’m really sorry).”

Hoping to put the issue behind, Garcia-Molina apologized to her fellow directors. “Nakalimutan kong posibleng lumaki to (I forgot this could become a big issue). No ill intentions whatsoever,” she said. “I’m so sorry nakalimutan ko na [m]araming [nakakabasa] nito. May nag react [nang] iba before I realized my booboo. Sorry again (I’m so sorry I forgot that a lot of people would read this. Many had already reacted before I realized my booboo. Sorry again).”

Wanting to cool down the emotions of fans, Villegas said that the issue was already settled a long time ago. “Kalma, lapit nang lumabas yung peliks. Sayang energy sa bv [bad vibes] (Calm down, the movie is about to be released. Don’t waste your energy on bad vibes).”
