Jason Abalos sets standard for ‘boyfriend goals’
Jason Abalos earned praise from his girlfriend Binibining Pilipinas 2018 candidate Vickie Marie Rushton and netizens for being a highly supportive boyfriend throughout her beauty pageant journey.
Rushton shared a Facebook post showing Abalos holding a poster of her while standing at the edge of the railings during pageant night. She wrote, “Minsan ka lang makakakita ng lalaking susuporta sa’yo ng todong-todo. Be like Jason Abalos! #boyfriendforlife” (You don’t always find a guy who will go all-out to support you. Be like Jason Abalos!)
Ladies chimed in their experiences from past boyfriends who were less than supportive of their pursuits, and hoped that they had a “Jason” in their lives. One top commenter, Tricia Nicole Santos, said her ex argued with her when she joined a beauty pageant. He even wanted to delete all her photos from the event. Another netizen, Debbieh Resando, called out her man for always disappearing during pageants. She said it was often the cause of annoyance for her.
During the pageant campaign phase, Abalos was actively promoting Rushton through Instagram. In one of his posts he wrote, “Hi guys :) pahelp naman :) samahan natin si @vimrushton sa kanyang masayang journey ngayon lamg to , ibuhos na ang suporta! Laban! :) thank you :) #binibini1” (Hi guys, please help me out, let’s join @vimrushton on her journey. It’s only for the time being, let’s give her all the support. Fight! Thank you.)
Last February, the former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate gifted Rushton with a red bear-shaped balloon and a self-made vanity mirror for Valentine’s Day.
