Billy Crawford took in stride the jabs directed at the suit he wore for his recent Ethiopia pictorial with Coleen Garcia.
A photograph comparing Crawford’s floral suit to a floral bag had been circulating social media. The actor shared the image on his Instagram page with the caption, “Goodnight y’all [tears of joy emoji]”. According to the shoot’s stylist Adrianne Concepcion, the suit was designed by Ryan Uson.
Netizens praised Crawford for being a good sport.
Several posts on Facebook point to FB user Janelle Payumo as the originator of the photo comparison. The netizen wrote on her post, “Pangprenup ni billy, bag lang ng nanay ko HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH”. (Billy’s prenup suit is just my mom’s bag.)
Payumo’s post has received over 50,000 shares and over 150,000 reactions, as of this writing.
Crawford later uploaded a second photo showing a sofa set in a floral pattern, which Facebook user Rhum Lee Homrich also compared to Crawford’s suit. Crawford wrote, “All around pala ang telang eto… #StylistIsDead #keepemcomin” (Didn’t realize this fabric is good for all-around use.)
Homrich’s post has since been shared over 14,000 times and garnered over 24,000 likes and reactions.
Crawford and Garcia’s shoot in Ethiopia received criticism for its alleged “cultural insensitivity.” Netizens cited how the locals appeared like “props” for some of the photos in the shoot.
The couple has clarified their intentions for the shoot and apologized to everyone they may have offended. JB
