LOOK: Sofia Andres apologizes for behavior, admits ‘fear of rejection’
It seems “Bagani” star Sofia Andres landed on the bad side of one blogger who revealed on Twitter about his unpleasant experience in meeting Andres in the past. It all started when Mc Richard Viana Paglicawan (@mangyanblogger), entertainment blogger and manager of Mangyan Blogger, retweeted a Twitter post made by Andres in Feb. 18 that said “too tired to be nice.”
Paglicawan wrote back in March 4, “You were never nice to begin with. Goodluck!”
He then explained in his Twitter thread why he said such a thing. According to Paglicawan, Andres looked disinterested and gave them a sullen look during one question-and-answer event. Although he did not mention which question-and-answer event it was and when, he said Andres was the only one who did not acknowledge them.
“You’re the only celebrity na humarap sa amin na mukhang hindi interesado sa Q&A,” wrote Paglicawan. “Always holding the phone, and yes sa harap namin umiirap ka. Seriously?!”
(You’re the only celebrity who faced us and did not look interested in the Q&A. Always holding the phone, and yes, you were sneering in front of us. Seriously?)

Hindi ako nagpost ng first time, pero dumating second time and looking forward sa mga next, consistent ang attitude niya.”

Paglicawan then lamented that looks can be so deceiving. He wrote, “Ang daming artists diyan na sobrang sikat, mas pagod obviously pero mabait, nice at accommodating. She’s still not on top pero ganyan na siya kalala.”
(There are a lot of artists out there who are really famous, obviously more tired than her but they are kind, nice and accommodating. She’s still not at the top and yet she’s already known to be that way.)
Murmurings about Andres seemed to have finally reached her, however, as she took to her Instagram yesterday to rectify the situation by sharing a letter to her fans. In the letter, Andres apologized to those who thought they were ignored or disrespected by her.
”Hi everybody, I just want to say sorry, really sorry for those who think that I ignored them, disrespected them, and think I never wanted to say hi or acknowledge them whenever they see me.”
She admitted that she has a fear of rejection and finds it difficult to interact with people she doesn’t personally know. “I really don’t know. I am always scared they might just judge me or ignore me or say nothing [at] all. My defense mechanism is to always act like I am a strong woman and you can’t bring me down… But the truth is I have no self confidence, I have insecurities, yes I do.”
She also confessed that she feels pressured that people might not want her at all. “I don’t know how I will approach them properly. Do they even want me to be with them or do they want me to say hi? Those are my questions to myself. I am really sorry. I am working on my personal relationship for such a long time.”
Meanwhile, Paglicawan (@mangyanblogger) took to Twitter again last night after Andres posted her letter. He clarified that he does not hate Andres, but dislikes her attitude towards bloggers in the couple of times they encountered her.
“She’s still young at marami pang pwedeng baguhin (and has lots to improve on),” wrote Paglicawan, tagging the Twitter account of Star Magic Philippines in he process. “Sana itake niya lahat ito at ayusin ang attitude niya (I hope she takes all this and fixes her attitude).” JB
