To be free of morning traffic seems to be every person’s fervent wish. When you live in a place like Metro Manila, known for having one of the worst traffic on Earth, commuting and driving everyday sure feels like engaging in war. You have the overtakers, traffic-light beaters, heart attack-inducing jeepney rides, and packed LRT and MRT trains that resemble canned sardines more than a transit system —almost like a “Train to Busan” nightmare, except instead of zombies, it’s the ticking of the clock that gets you running for your life.

So it comes as no surprise, then, that Anne Curtis did not hesitate to hop on a helicopter yesterday morning when it presented itself to her at the exact moment she was running late for work. Any sane person would.

Curtis shared an Instagram Story of her adventure yesterday, boarding a helicopter en route her home network ABS-CBN for “It’s Showtime”, a noontime variety show which Curtis co-hosts.

“When you have to beat the traffic to make it for Showtime!” wrote Curtis.

In the clips, Curtis can be seen enjoying her fast and comfortable traffic-free travel to work. She also showed an aerial picture of the city.

A couple of minutes passed and the ABS-CBN headquarters was finally in view. “Hi ABS-CBN!” quipped Curtis as she arrived to her destination.

It turns out, the chopper ride was courtesy of Go Negosyo, an advocacy of the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship which works with innovative business owners to through caravans, campaigns and summits.

Curtis was one of the speakers in this year’s 10th Filipino Entrepreneurship Summit of Go Negosyo which was held yesterday in the World Trade Center, Pasay City. Curtis had just finished her commitment there and was on her way to ABS-CBN for “It’s Showtime”.

Apart from Curtis, other speakers in the summit included celebrity doctor Dr. Vicki Belo, Elizabeth Eder-Zobel de Ayala who is chairman and co-founder of Teach for the Philippines, and Tessi Sy-Coson of SM Investments Corp., among others.

And how long did it take Curtis to reach the network? Just ten minutes, compared to the almost two hours of travel it can take by car. Talk about outsmarting traffic, indeed. JB
