WATCH: 6 top movie trailers screened during Super Bowl 2018
This year, like every year, a host of movie studios dropped trailers for their upcoming blockbusters during United States television’s most-watched event, the Super Bowl.
Here are six trailers that screened Sunday, Feb. 4 during the grand final of the NFL season:
Solo: A Star Wars Story
Lucasfilm revealed the first footage from its forthcoming “Star Wars” spinoff during this year’s Super Bowl. The 45-second trailer shows “Hail, Caesar!” star Alden Ehrenreich playing the young mercenary Han Solo. A longer trailer is set to be screened in the coming hours during the “Good Morning America” TV show. The movie, out May 25, 2018, is set before Episode IV, “Star Wars: A New Hope”, released in 1977, and focuses on Han Solo’s past.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
After its first trailer in December, the sequel to the “Jurassic Park” reboot returns with a second explosive offering. The movie, directed by J.A. Bayona, is in U.S. theaters June 22, and sees Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard and Jeff Goldblum return to the cast.
Avengers: Infinity War
The Marvel superheroes also made an appearance at this year’s Super Bowl, promoting their latest joint adventure, in U.S. theaters May 4.
Mission: Impossible – Fallout
Tom Cruise kept fans waiting until the Super Bowl to reveal the latest installment in his “Mission: Impossible” franchise. Filmed partly in Paris, “Fallout” is in U.S. theaters July 27.
Skyscraper
Dwayne Johnson stars in this action thriller, out July 13 in the U.S.
A Quiet Place
This movie, directed by John Krasinski who is set to play Jack Ryan in Amazon’s upcoming series, made the news at this year’s Super Bowl with a trailer starring the actor-director alongside his wife Emily Blunt. JB
