Baby number two for Jolina Magdangal and Mark Escueta will be a girl, just as Magdangal hoped.
On her talk show “Magandang Buhay” with Melai Cantiveros and Karla Estrada, the 39-year-old pop icon couldn’t contain her excitement during the gender reveal.
She and Escueta popped balloons to reveal pink confetti, indicating that they were expecting a baby girl to join their first child, three-year-old Pele.
“Alam niyo gustong-gusto ko talaga i-share sa inyo mga momshie, pero pinigil ko,” Mother Marbles said to her co-hosts. (I really wanted to share this with you but I held back.)
“Kaya ako na-emosyonal na ganito kasi sobra-sobra ang ibinigay sa aming blessing. On time ibinigay, at yung gender, winish namin and binigay pa rin so sobrang thank you talaga.” (I got so emotional because we’ve received so much blessings. The baby was given on time and we got the gender we prayed for, so I’m very grateful.)
Little Pele himself also wished for a sister during a previous episode of the show.
Estrada said she could sense it was a girl based on a clip of Magdangal’s reaction when she was undergoing an ultrasound. In the video, she is seen holding her husband’s hand and saying an ecstatic “Yes!”
“Iba yung saya niya ‘nung malaman,” noted Estrada. (She had a different kind of happiness when she found out.)
On naming their daughter, Magdangal said she and the Rivermaya musician are still mulling it over, since they took time on Pele’s name. “Siguro pwede (Maybe) Pela,” Magdangal joked. Niña V. Guno/JB
