LOOK: Chesca Garcia reveals she was once a Barbie doll model

In her youth, Chesca Garcia did not only enjoy success as a child star for “Ang TV”, but had also modeled for the most famous doll of all, Barbie.

The “Team Kramer” matriarch took to Instagram on Wednesday as she shared a photo of herself with a vintage Barbie doll, “Sweetheart Barbie”, released in 1991. It can be seen on the box that there was a photo of a little girl, who happens to be her. Her husband, Doug Kramer, pointed this out too in a short video the family shared via their official Facebook page yesterday.

Earlier this month, Garcia narrated on her Instagram page how her face had made its way on millions of boxes of the dolls sold at that time, out of being chosen to model for the campaign. The actress said that her daughter, Kendra, stumbled upon it online. Garcia was then able to make the online purchase “with complete box and all.”

“The last one left because apparently it’s a collectable and rare,” Kramer said about the doll. While she got the version of the doll wearing the white gown, she could no longer find the one wearing pink.

Garcia also recalled her daughters’ reactions upon finding out that she used to model for the doll. “Kendra was so kilig to see me in a Barbie box. She said, ‘Mama, you’re the coolest mom ever!'” she said. “Scarlett couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw it… ‘Mama is that really you?!'”

As she reminisced, she expressed that she “couldn’t believe that they got me for it” and it was a dream come true for her.

“So happy that this time I get to show and share that precious moment with my daughters!” Kramer said.

The actress-model now usually devotes her time to her family, which incidentally, as a whole unit, found celebrity status as commercial endorsers called Team Kramer. JB
