Xian Lim has transferred to Viva Artists Agency after an eight-year stint with ABS-CBN talent center Star Magic.

In a press conference featured on ABS-CBN News, Lim said his contract was expiring with Star Magic and that Viva offered him the movie project “Miss Granny” with Sarah Geronimo and James Reid.

I was very excited,” he said of the project.

“Even a couple of years back, kapag tinatanong ako, sino ang mga gusto mo makapareha (when I would be asked who I wanted to be paired with), I mean, to be able to work with Sarah, it’s already a very huge blessing, and siyempre si James din (of course James too).”

The 28-year-old actor will play a record producer who is Geronimo’s love interest in the adaptation of the South Korean movie.

He didn’t specify how long he mulled over the big move, but said it took him a long time to make the decision. Lim is signed on to the talent agency for five years.

On his love team with Kim Chiu dubbed KimXi, Lim reassured, “The KimXi tandem will always be there.” He added that she was “very supportive” of him.

And while working with Viva also opens the possibility to transfer to other networks, he said, “Gusto ko lang sabihin na (I just want to say that) I really love ABS-CBN. ABS-CBN has always been my home.”

The actor expressed his gratitude to his Star Magic handlers on Instagram. “There will never be any goodbyes, just see you around,” he said.

The contract signing was held at the Viva Group of Companies boardroom in Pasig city.

In attendance were CEO Vic “Boss Vic” del Rosario, president and COO Veronique del Rosario-Corpus and executive June Torrejon-Rufino.  Niña V. Guno /ra
