Slayer reveals plans for farewell world tour

Trash metal band from the United States, Slayer, has revealed that “The End is Near” and announced plans to tour the world one last time before that day comes.

In a tweet posted on Monday and joined by a quick-cutting video summarizing the band’s career, the band shared the message, “The End is Near… #Slayer to tour the world one more time….,” with a follow-up tweet revealing artwork for the tour as well as the talent that would join the band on its farewell run: Lamb of God, Anthrax, Behemoth and Testament.

Other details about the tour have yet to be revealed, although the video concludes with a note that North American tour dates are soon to be announced.

Slayer was formed in 1981 by guitarists Kerry King and the late Jeff Hanneman, and rose to fame with the 1986 album “Reign in Blood”. The multi-Grammy-winning group came to be associated with fellow thrash metal bands Metallica, Megadeth and Anthrax, together known as the Big Four.
