You might probably see WWE wrestler and actor John Cena on the big screen fighting aliens soon, as he is in talks to play popular video game hero Duke Nukem.
The film adaptation of the video game will reportedly be produced by Michael Bay’s film production company Platinum Dunes. The rights to the movie had previously been set up by Dimension Films, but had lapsed, according to The Hollywood Reporter yesterday.
If the project pushes through, this will be the second time that the wrestling superstar would team up with Bay. Cena is also set to appear in the Bay-produced “Transformers” spin-off film, “Bumblebee” to be released in December.
So far, no director and writer has been chosen for the movie, but Cena is set to play the titular role.
The “Duke Nukem” video game franchise was first introduced in 1991, and has spawned several sequels and spin-offs. Katrina Hallare/JB
