Carmi mom to fur babies

Actress Carmi Martin has her hands full taking care of four fur babies at home. “They’re all mix Maltese-Yorkies,” Carmi tells the Inquirer. The big mama of the brood is named Chloe, now 8 years old. “Chloe is originally from Las Vegas.”

Chloe later had three pups: Happy, Buchiann and Bella, now 4 years old.

“They have different traits,” Carmi explains. “Happy loves to kiss. Buchiann often gets all excited and gives me all sorts of pasalubong (presents), like tissue paper. Bella enjoys getting belly rubs.”

The actress admits that she dotes on them as if they were real babies. “I care for them like they’re human. Maybe because I never had kids, I shower them with all the motherly love I can give.”

After a long day on the set, she comes home to find them waiting for her at the doorstep. “I sing a lullaby for Chloe and her babies, so that they would go back to sleep,” she relates.—BAYANI SAN DIEGO JR.
