Talent manager Rams David set the record straight on Maine Mendoza’s showbiz career.
Fans have speculated that the 22-year-old instant star had left the noontime show “Eat Bulaga” following her noticeable absence.
According to Bandera, David said, “Definitely Maine will be back on ‘Eat Bulaga’ para sa kaalaman ng fans niyang nakaka-miss sa kanya (To fans who miss her, definitely Maine will be back on ‘Eat Bulaga’).”
“Napagod lang si Meng so humingi ng break. Naiintindihan naman namin yon. Imagine two years siyang walang pahinga. Sumabak siya sa mundo ng show biz nang walang kaalam-alam!” he explained.
(Maine got tired so she asked for a break. We understand that. Imagine two years of no rest. She was thrust into the world of show biz without knowing anything!)
According to a Pilipino Star Ngayon report, David said Mendoza is with her family in the United States for their Christmas vacation.
She will return on Dec. 31 and will appear live on “Eat Bulaga” on Jan. 1, 2018.
He also addressed what her open letter posted in late November meant. She pleaded for “freedom to feel what I want to feel, be what I want to be, and do what I want to do.”
Bandera reports that according to David, there is no truth to claims that Mendoza will transfer to another network following her letter.
Mendoza rose to fame after posting Dubsmash videos that went viral on Facebook. She was then tapped by GMA to become a talent in the Kalyeserye portion of “Eat Bulaga” as Yaya Dub, and one half of the superstar love team AlDub with actor Alden Richards.
David also confirmed that her movie with Richards was pushing through, but that the concept was being changed.
“Tuloy pa rin yon. Binago na lang ang concept. Hindi na yung may action. Gusto namin yung maganda talagang story,” he said.
(The movie will continue. The concept was changed. It will no longer be action-packed. We want a beautiful story.)
He also shared that she has three endorsements lined up for her in the coming year. Niña V. Guno /ra
