Joross Gamboa explains why he congratulated good friend John Lloyd Cruz

Was “Deadma Walking” actor Joross Gamboa’s congratulations to controversial actor and good friend John Lloyd Cruz a confirmation that he’s about to become a father?
“Oo kino-congratulate ko siya,” Gamboa said at the recently held grand press launch of his movie. “Actually, ako binase ko lang sa lahat ng ano [rumors]. Wala akong direct confirmation sa kanya, pero kung ‘yun man talaga, kino-congratulate ko siya.”
“Pagkauwi lang niya saka ko siya kinongratulate,” he added. “Siyempre, busy rin ako sa trabaho at ‘di rin kami masyado nkakapag-usap. Konting kamustahan lang. Message ko lang siya. ‘Yung before pa siya umalis eh, ‘yung huli naming usap,.”
While his congratulations might sound intriguing to some, he clarified that it was simply a generic statement. It was meant for all things positive that had been going on his friend’s life.
As of this writing, he still had no confirmation from the actor whether pregnancy rumors involving him and rumored girlfriend, sexy actress Ellen Adarna is true.
“Generic ang pag congratulate ko kasi gusto ko muna alamin lahat” Gamboa said. “Generic pa lang kasi alam ko. Wala pang confirmation galing sa kanya. Wala, hindi pa kami nakakapag-usap.”
Recent reports said that a major reason why the two have been keeping themselves mum about the issue is because of the actress’s endorsement deals. As a prime endorser, Adarna has stipulations in her contracts that she cannot get pregnant while the agreements are still in effect.
Gamboa believes that speaking out or holding back any admission would simply have to be any person’s decision.
“Nasa tao naman ‘yan eh. Bilang kung gusto nila maging vocal about it, kung gusto nila maging public, respeto natin ‘yun sa kanila,” he said. “For me, I can only speak for myself.”
Whether the pregnancy rumors are true or not, he believes his friend is stable and all ready to have a family.
“Handa na siya, oo naman,” he said. “Matured si Lloydie na tao. Stable na siya sa buhay niya. It’s time for him na magkaron ng sariling pamilya.”
On Ellen Adarna and Angelica Panganiban
Social media posts show that Cruz and Adarna are constantly spending time together. However, Gamboa said he still hadn’t known Adarna that much.
“Hindi ko siya ganon kakilala talaga,” he said. “Pero sa pagkakakilala ko sa kanya, mabait siyang babae. And ang importante nun sila talaga ‘yung nakakaaalam nun sa bawat isa eh. Kung mahal nila ang isa’t-isa, why not.”
“Kung san masaya si Lloydie, d’un ako,” he added.
Being a close friend of Cruz’s ex-girlfriend Angelica Panganiban, Gamboa was also saddened by their break-up. But then, he believes that even if he wants them together, if they are not meant for each other, it just won’t happen.
“Nakakapang-hinayang din kasi isang matalik na kaibigan ko rin si Angge [Angelica Panganiban],” he said. “But everything happens for a reason baka hindi sila para sa isa’t-isa talaga.” /atm
