What would you give your loved ones this holiday season? What would you like to receive this year? What’s your wish for the coming year? What’s your most memorable Christmas?
For filmmakers Jun Robles Lana and Perci Intalan, their idea of Christmas has definitely changed with the coming of their son. Now, everything revolves around the hearth and home.
Jun explains that he’d like to give more of himself to his loved ones. Says Jun: “I’d like to give more time to my family, especially my son.” Perci confesses that he’s still undecided about this year’s presents. “Honestly, I have no idea yet,” Perci quips. “But I really want it to be ‘mushy’ … something you cannot wrap with paper. But wouldn’t it be great if we can all give that?”
Asked to enumerate items on their wish list, their answers show just how compatible they are. “I wish for nothing fancy. Just an all-expense-paid, three-month-long writing retreat by a pristine lake somewhere in Europe,” Jun asserts.
Seriously now. Jun relates: “My goal is for The IdeaFirst Company to produce more films—both box-office hits and indie features.”
Perci agrees: “Of course, I pray that our company will continue to thrive. But I also hope to start training more young people. I have been blessed and have learned so much from my mentors and from my own experiences that I want to start imparting these learnings with the young blood.”
Jun and Perci also picked the same memory as their happiest holidays ever.
Jun points out: “Our first Christmas with our son. It marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter for my family.” Perci notes: “Last year was the most unforgettable … because it was the first time Santa Claus came to our house.” —BAYANI SAN DIEGO JR.
Wish granted for Jane’s special someone
For her part, actress Jane Oineza, who admitted in July that former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Kyle Secades was her boyfriend, said that she was planning to grant one of the latter’s Christmas wishes this year.
“He never tells me what he wants to get as a gift, but I know what he’s often been checking out at stores—a pair of shoes,” Jane told the Inquirer, adding that she was also on the lookout for the perfect gifts for her brother Charles and sister Noime.
“I’d probably get Charles a new game to play on his Xbox. That’s what he always bugs me for. As for my sister, I don’t know yet, because she’s picky,” the actress said. —MARINEL R. CRUZ
