JM de Guzman is back with talent agency Star Magic after going on a showbiz hiatus in 2015.
ABS-CBN News, along with with Star Magic executive Thess Gubi, confirmed the actor’s return.
De Guzman, 29, has been in rehabilitation for substance abuse. In October he shared that he was nearly two years sober.
The “That Thing Called Tadhana” actor also has potential projects with indie film company TBA Studios.
Founder Fernando Ortigas said he was impressed with the actor after he worked in “Tandem” in 2015.
“I knew ever since we worked with him we like him to come back and work (with us),” Ortigas told the Philippines Ultimate Showbiz Hub.
“ I think he’s free from any contracts. So we said, ’It’s really up to you what you want to do. We’re going to be supportive.”
Projects will most likely take place in 2018.
De Guzman has expressed his gratitude to TBA Studios, crediting the founders, Ortigas and Ed Rocha, for “saving my life.” Niña V. Guno /ra
