Jessy Mendiola ‘a year wiser,’ says won’t sacrifice ‘my own happiness’
Jessy Mendiola turned 25th on Sunday and said she has grown a year wiser.

“The past few years have not been easy. I was so scared to be myself, to love without hesitation and to live my life the way I wanted to,” she confessed.
“I would sacrifice my own happiness for someone else’s pleasure, even if it meant getting hurt.”
“Everything changed when I started to choose my OWN happiness and forgive myself for not being perfect,” the actress said.
“I realized that happiness is something you work hard for.”
“Now that I’m a year wiser, I promise myself that there will be no holding back anymore. I will keep choosing happiness,” she said.
Mendiola has been in the spotlight after being named FHM’s sexiest woman in 2016 and for dating TV host Luis Manzano, 36.
Their romance has faced criticism as Manzano has had a history of high-profile long-term relationships that didn’t pan out, such as with Jennylyn Mercado and Angel Locsin.
Online, Mendiola has shrugged off critics who doubt her career, question her life choices or comment about her body.
She and Manzano continue to post about each other despite some negative comments. Manzano was effusive in his birthday greeting to her.
“You are the one that ties everything in my life together. All the good things happening in my life wouldn’t truly be or feel good if I didn’t have you to share them with,” he said. /ra
