‘Glee’ star Naya Rivera faces domestic battery charges
“Glee” star Naya Rivera was arrested and charged with domestic battery after hitting her estranged husband Ryan Dorsey in Charlottesville, North Carolina, United States on Saturday.
WSAZ reported that Rivera hit Dorsey multiple times on the face after an argument arose between them over their two-year-old son, while the three was strolling in the neighborhood. Rivera’s husband did not suffer any major injuries from the altercation.
Dorsey showed the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office video evidence of the actress hitting him. Deputies noted from the video that Rivera was intoxicated during the assault.
According to Sgt. Brian Humphreys, as stated in the report, the incident shown in the video bore enough corroborative elements to justify the subsequent filing of charges.
Humphreys also pointed out that the notion of women as always the victims and men as always the aggressors in incidents of domestic violence “should not be the case.”
