The characters of the long-running children’s television show “Sesame Street” has also been bitten by the “Stranger Things” bug.
Parodied as “Sharing Things”, the “Sesame Street” gang portrayed the cast of the hit Netflix series, complete with costumes and wigs. They go trick-or-treating on Halloween night until the “Cookie-gorgon” emerges from the Upside Down, on the hunt to munch on cookies.
“Cookie-gorgon” munched on every treat he was offered without consideration for other kids; while Grover and Ernie, dressed as Lucas and Dustin, spoke out and explained to the “Cookie-gorgon” what sharing is all about.
Other notable characters such as Eleven, Joyce Byers, MadMax, Chief Hopper and Nancy — in Muppet form —also appeared in the sketch.
The parody ended with the “Cookie-gorgon” learning to share his cookies with everyone, even with Nancy who he brought a waffle to as a take-home gift.
The much-loved educational show has been known to parody other TV shows and movies in its 48-year run. “Sesame Street” has spoofed the likes of “Mad Men”, “Downtown Abbey” and “The Hunger Games” over the years. JB
