Matteo bares inspirations other than Sarah

Guests at a recent press conference for Matteo Guidicelli’s Nov.30 concert at the Kia Theatre couldn’t help but notice how the lyrics of one particular song (titled “Hey”) in his latest album relates so much to his and Sarah Geronimo’s love story.

“Yes, Sarah is an inspiration for whatever I do, be it in singing or acting. I use all my inspirations to make the album, to play with my band, and to mount this concert,” Matteo said.

“It is inspired by the truth, by events that happened to me,” he added. “While acting for me is all about portraying characters, my music is my reality.”

He said his album, which took almost a year to make and contains 10 original tracks, was greatly influenced by the sound of bands Blink-182 and Limp Bizkit, and local artists Kitchie Nadal and Bamboo.— MARINEL CRUZ
