Months after he transitioned from being Charice Pempengco, Jake Zyrus celebrated after receiving his Walk of Fame star.

He wrote in a tweet, “It happened and I still can’t believe it.”

This is his second star, the first being in 2010 when he was Charice Pempengco.

But he was also met with detractors, one of whom told him, “Who’s Jake Zyrus?”

Even as a fan pointed out that he has performed internationally as Charice, the Twitter user continued to demean Zyrus’ achievements.

“Although it was for a good cause, it doesn’t sound like it was well attended,” the netizen said.

Zyrus replied, “Lowkey hating, ma’am. Di mo na lang derechuhin ang gusto mong ipahiwatig hindi yung eenglishin mo pa ako (Just say exactly what you’re implying, and don’t be telling me that in English).”

“Wether (sic) you know the person or not, di mo dapat minamaliit. Pinoy ka. Suportahan mo. Wag bitter. God bless (You shouldn’t belittle someone whether you know the person or not. You’re a Filipino. Support fellow Filipinos. Don’t be bitter).”

It was still a happy occasion for Zyrus who posed with fellow Walk of Famers and pogi (handsome) stars Matteo Guidicelli and Empoy Marquez.

“The pogi, (matteo) the semi pogi, (pagbigyan nyo ko) and the new pogi (empoy),” he quipped.

Zyrus continues to pursue a musical career as a transman. Last October, he held his first concert “I Am Jake Zyrus.” /ra
