The Joker’s mad psychiatrist sidekick Harley Quinn will be starring in her own animated show through Warner Bros.’ DC-branded streaming service.

According to Deadline, the show will be a half-hour long adult animated action-comedy spanning 26 episodes. Other “Batman” villains such as Poison Ivy, who has been romantically associated with Harley, may also make appearances.

Executive producers Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker and Dean Lorey from the TV series “Powerless” have been tapped to helm the Harley Quinn animated show. Actress Margot Robbie who played Harley in the movie “Suicide Squad” may also be brought in to voice the animated version. However, no deals have been mentioned yet at the time of writing.

The Harley Quinn animated series stands as the third show to be green-lit for the DC digital streaming platform. The other two shows are a live-action “Titans” show and a revival of the animated series “Young Justice”.

Harley’s show would focus on her life after finally breaking off from The Joker. She now sees herself as a candidate to take over the criminal underworld of Gotham City as its new Queenpin. How this plays out could be anyone’s guess, as long as Harley Quinn is involved. Alfred Bayle/JB
