Dacre Montgomery seeks fans’ help to end water crisis

Australian actor Dacre Montgomery recently uploaded a video on Instagram, calling on his followers to help an organization focused on bringing potable water to communities in various countries.

“Water is a human right. Join the fight,” Montgomery said in the caption. “Follow @thirstproject on social media channels, so you can join us and help end the global water crisis.”

In the video, the “Stranger Things” actor said, “100 percent of the funds that we raise goes directly to funding clean water projects.”

According to the organization’s site (thirstproject.org), its mission is “simple”: “Build a socially conscious generation of young people … [to] end the global water crisis. By providing a community with safe drinking water, disease rates can drop by up to 88 percent virtually overnight.”

Montgomery, 22, also appeared earlier this year in the film reboot of “Power Rangers.”

Singer and “This is Us” actress Mandy Moore is thankful for a family without secrets, she recently told People. “Nobody is hiding who they are. There are no secrets in our lives. I love and support my mom and brothers with my whole heart,” she said of her lesbian mother, Stacy, and both her gay siblings, Scott and Kyle.

“Nothing makes me happier than seeing anybody live their authentic selves, and to choose love,” she added. “If anyone can find love, I support it, I salute you and I celebrate that.”

The celebrity, 33, expressed optimism for a more widespread acceptance of LGBT people: “I’m encouraged and excited that eventually we’re going to get to a point where none of this matters. Sexual preference or orientation just won’t factor in anymore.”
