The first time actress Michelle Pfeiffer heard Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ song “Uptown Funk,” she didn’t know how to feel about being immortalized in song. “I’m, like, what’s going on? … I’m a huge fan,” said Pfeiffer in a recent episode of “The Graham Norton Show.”

Part of the lyrics goes, “This hit, that ice cold/Michelle Pfeiffer, that white gold,” which the “Mother!” actress eventually considered a nice compliment.

“I was incredibly flattered,” Pfeiffer said. “It was very cool.”

But, being mentioned in a popular song has its drawbacks. “It was embarrassing at times—you know, carpool with the kids and the song comes on, and my son is … ,” she said, pretending to sink in her seat.

“Or I’m in exercise class and the song comes on … but yeah, I love the song,” Pfeiffer related. —OLIVER PULUMBARIT
