Kristen Bell on board for ‘Veronica Mars’ miniseries

Kristen Bell offered some positive news about “Veronica Mars”, saying that “It’s going to happen.”

Bell shared some updates during an interview that actor Ryan Hansen had with IndieWire.

Hansen called up Bell and put her on speakerphone to confirm some news about “Veronica Mars”, because he said “everyone keeps asking me.”

According to Bell, she and “Mars” creator Rob Thomas “are sort of in constant contact about when we can do it again. There’s a lot of willingness and commitment to doing it again.”

Apparently, a “Veronica Mars” miniseries has been talked about, but Bell’s role in the NBC TV series “The Good Place” keeps her from doing a full “Mars” show.

“You can’t do two television shows at the same time. So we’d have to do like a miniseries,” said Bell.

The “Veronica Mars” TV series first aired in Sept. 22, 2004 with a 22-episode season one. The show starred Kristen Bell as the titular character who works as a part-time private investigator while still attending high school as a student. The series ran for two more seasons until 2007. A movie had later been made in 2014 through crowdfunding.

For the time being, no deal or timeline has been set in stone. However, Rob and Bell exchange emails every couple of months to continue planning for the miniseries. The actress also believes a miniseries format would be just right for what they had in mind.

The actress added, “And personally I think, and I think Rob probably agrees, is that a) we’ll never make the fans pay for it again and b) the format works better as an episodic [series].” JB
