Marian and Dingdong, 10 years later

It’s hard to find a better-looking pair than Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes, who will celebrate their third wedding anniversary in December. It’s been 10 years since they first met each other on the set of the 2007 reboot of “MariMar.”

But while Yan and Dong’s tandem has always seemed like a match made in “teleserye” heaven, their off-screen relationship hasn’t always been the happy partnership that it is now. “The first time we met, I was sure we wouldn’t get along,” Dingdong told us with a smile during our chat with him early this year.

As it turned out, the feeling was mutual: “Suplado s’ya (he was a snob)!” That was Marian’s first impression of Dingdong. “It took two more ‘telenovelas’ before we started to warm up to each other,” she said. After “MariMar,” Dingdong and Marian teamed up again in “Dyesebel” (2008), and “Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang” (2009)—and the rest is history. —RITO ASILO
