Ed Sheeran cancels tour dates due to injuries

It looks like Ed Sheeran’s arms won’t work like they used to before in the mean time, and he may need a rest from playing music.

The “Shape of You” singer took to social media to update his fans whether or not he can still continue on with his world tour to promote his latest album “÷”. He is currently suffering injuries after being hit by a car while riding his bike in London.

Writing to his fans via Facebook, he said that his right wrist and left elbow have been fractured due to the accident, making him cancel some tour dates to recuperate.

Some parts of his tour’s Asian leg, particularly Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong, will not push through as planned. “I’m waiting to see how the healing progresses before we have to decide on shows beyond that,” he further said.

After his update, singer John Mayer took to Twitter to show support for Sheeran. “You’re Superman even without the cape,” Mayer tweeted.

It is unclear whether Sheeran will still set foot in Manila — supposed to be his second time to perform in the Philippines — as part of his Divide World Tour. It will happen on Nov. 7 at the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds. JB
