Pop royalties Mark Bautista and Sarah Geronimo reunite with songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid for her much-awaited R30 concert, happening at the Mall of Asia Arena on Oct. 21 to 22.
Bautista recently posted a photo of the three of them together via Instagram, which he completed with a nostalgic caption, “Team Star for a Night”.
“Star for a Night” was a singing contest produced by Viva Television, which aired from 2002 until 2003. Hosted by Velasquez, Geronimo was hailed as the grand champion in the contest. Placing behind her was Bautista, whose stint at “Star for a Night” also paved the way for a successful singing career in local showbiz.
Eventually, Geronimo and Bautista made names in singing and acting. Together, they were able to star in the fantasy movie “Lastikman: Unang Banat” in 2004. Later they both ventured in numerous other movies separately. Bautista starred in “Masikip sa Dibdib” in 2004, “Paano Kita Iibigin” in 2007, “Baler” in 2008, “Kimmy Dora” in 2009 and “Of All The Things” in 2012, among others.
Geronimo, on the other hand, top-billed record-breaking romantic comedies. She starred with award-winning Kapamilya actor John Lloyd Cruz in a hit trilogy which started with “A Very Special Love” in 2008, “You Changed My Life” in 2009, and concluded with “It Takes a Man and a Woman” in 2013. Recently, their hit tandem reunited in another box-office hit, “Finally Found Someone”.
Meanwhile, Velasquez remained with the Kapuso network throughout the years and is regularly seen in her Saturday cooking and lifestyle show “Sarap Diva”. JB
