‘Game of Thrones’ season 8 on avoiding spoilers: No scripts for cast, walls around sets

“Game of Thrones” continues to raise the bar on ensuring season 8 will be explosive for fans.

On the Scandinavian chat show “Skavlan”, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays the dashing Jaime Lannister, said that actors will not have their own scripts, the Associated Press reports.

Lines will be fed via earpieces during production of the final season, given that even the tightest security have failed the studio.

In the first few seasons, the cast received hard copies of scripts. Digital files then followed, and after actors could only access them through verified email.

This did not stop hackers from breaching HBO’s online security. Millions of dollars were demanded so that scripts and show files of multiple shows would not be leaked.

It remains unclear how actors can practice lines on their own: Liam Cunningham (Ser Davos Seaworth) told Deadline that he had scripts for all six episodes of season 8 but could not open them.

Metal walls around Winterfell

Dedicated fan site Watchers on the Wall have shared pictures of the Winterfell set being reconstructed. It cited a fan’s observation that metal walls are built to cover the set. Though as any “Thrones” fan knows, walls can only do so much.

“A blanket of snow” was also seen covering the ground, while towers are being “remodeled extensively,” hinting that the North is preparing for a cold war.

Other measures of HBO include reportedly shooting multiple endings, and cast members not being allowed to take selfies with fans.
