‘Late Late’ host James Corden apologizes for Harvey Weinstein joke
After “The Late Late Show” host drew flak for joking about fallen movie mogul Harvey Weinstein at a charity event, James Corden has apologized over his remarks.
“To be clear, sexual assault is no laughing matter. I was not trying to make light of Harvey’s inexcusable behavior, but to shame him, the abuser, not his victims. I am truly sorry for anyone intended, that was never my intention,” Corden tweeted Sunday.

Among those in attendance for the charity event were Hollywood A-listers Julia Roberts, Sean Penn and Tom Hanks, Variety reports. Hanks is a board member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences that recently voted to expel Weinstein amid the controversies.
In a report by The Independent, it has been noted that there are talks about whether or not the 54-member board will decide to revoke his win for the 1998 film “Shakespeare in Love”, which bagged best picture. Katrina Hallare/JB
