New box-office queen Alessandra de Rossi believes celebrities should not be faulted if they decide to switch networks.
Money usually is no issue in show biz. Anyone who makes it big will surely earn big. But the moment projects come short and resources run out, celebrities are left with no resort but to look for opportunities beyond their fences.
However, people have different views on celebrities switching networks. Most stress the importance of loyalty.
ç kung san nila gusto magtrabaho,” she said at the press conference for her new movie “12” last Wednesday.
(You know what, truthfully, I don’t understand why actors can’t work anywhere they want, let’s pity them. Let’s admit, [a television network] has so many talents, and yet they only give opportunities to about just three. These actors have mouths to feed, let’s cut them some slack as to where they want to work.)
She also shared that she once experienced being financially challenged.
“Naranasan ko na yan ‘yung walang pambayad sa bahay ‘yung maawa kayo, maawa kayo sa mga artista, hindi kami kagaya ng network na kahit sinong artista ilagay namin diyan kumikita kami,” she said.
Fresh from the massive success of her sleeper hit “Kita Kita” with today’s newest leading man, funny guy Empoy Marquez, De Rossi offers her viewers yet another compelling story of lovers every couple would surely relate to. Opposite newbie actor Ivan Padilla, “12” is a love story that would ask oneself if there’s a love worth losing yourself for.
Produced by Viva Films, “12” is showing in cinemas nationwide starting Nov. 8. /ra
